  3. My ideas about homelessnes have changed because now I know that sometimes people don't have other family to go to when they lose their house. I feel sorry for the people who are homeless beacuse they can feel alone and useless.

  4. My ideas about homelessness changed. I now realize that they were once normal people and had jobs and lives.

  5. My ideas about homelessness have changed because I used to think about people living in cardboard boxes in the pouring down rain when I thought about homelessness, but now I realize that's just not the case. Someone could appear very well off, but they really could be living on a large amount of charity. They could be staying at friends' houses for extended periods of time and borrowing clothes and all that from them. Some people abuse their status of "homeless" or nearing homeless. They have kids and are not married, and they get checks for every kid that they have just because they are not married.

  6. Since I read the artical about the homeless girls, I have a new ideaof what homelessness is. I realized that when you are homeless, you don't have to be living on the street searching for food. You can live in a shelter or with a relative for a short amount of time. You can also live on the street, however.

  8. I think homelessness now is a sad thing and something that keeps increasing and shouldn't. For some people they made a mistake, some people just got kicked out into nothing. They could be any age teen-50s 60s or 70s or even older. People make mistakes. They just can't fix them sometimes.

  9. My ideas about homelessness have changed because I used to think that when your homeless you only lived on park benches or the street but after i read about the girls in the packet i have a different perspective. Now i know you can live with a family member or in a shelter...you don't always have to be dumpster diving.

  10. my ideas has change because now i can kind of see what they go through in a normal day and i can see that it's bad i didn't think of homeless was very bad but now i think it could be the worst thing that can happen to a teen or a person.

  11. my ideas of homelessness has changed because i learn that being homeless doesn't mean that you live on the street.you can but you don't have to.so people just don't have enough money to get by.

  13. my ideas have changed about homelessness. after i read about the girls who are homeless and found out that when you are homeless you dont just live on the streets. there are shelters that people who dont have any homes. theres isnt always space for everyone so some people have to suffer. i feel very bad for them. i feel that everyone should get a second chance in life.

  14. My thoughts have changed, I thought homeless was just poor people I didnt relise the big picture about all they have to go through.

  15. I really feel sorry for homeless people but they should try to get a job to support there faimly. But we should do something about homeless people.

  16. My homelessness ideas have changed because I used to think of run-away teens or people to poor afford a home but it's not like that in many cases. Many times these people were able to afford a home and lost money or their jobs and as a result weren't able to afford their home in that situation. I've also learned that you can be living with family and most importantly, can live under shelter and still be homeless.

  17. My ideas of homelessness have changed a lot. I always used to think the homeless people would sleep out on the streets with nothing to keep them warm, and that they would not want people watching them go dumpster diving for a meal. But really, homelessness is not really all that. Some people live with their relatives or in a shelter with a good meal.

  18. My ideas haven't changed to much. But, I do know now that homeless people cant really help being homeless. They just make earlier mistakes that cant be solved.

  19. My ideas have changed about homeless, I have realized that a lot of homeless people don't necacerally choose to be homeless. Some people don't even do anything a lot of times their parents or gaurdians maybe got into drugs so their kids had to suffer

  21. My ideas have changed because there has been more and there are alot of diffrent types of homelessness

    ReplyDelete
  22. It has shown me that homeless people arent neccesarily old and dirty

    ReplyDelete
  23. My feelings have also changed because now i know that you dont have to be a runaway to be homeless. You can be forced on the streets or you could have lost a job and not have the funny to support your self.

  24. My ideas about being homeless have not changed, I still think that being homeless is to be without a home and having little money. But I have now learned that that when you are homeless it doesn't necessarily mean that you are dirty and gross because you could be staying at a shelter or friend's house instead of on the streets.

  25. my idea of homelessness has changed alot. especially after reading the story about the girls that are straight a students, have boyfriends, and are not involved in drugs or alchol abuse. i thinkto be homeless means like it sounds you dont have a place to call home. it doesn't mean that you are a bum, or dirty, or are involved with alchol and drugs. it just means that you don't have a house. i think alot of stereotypes are made for homeless people and alot of times they aren't true. these days alot of people are getting laid of their jobs which can lead to homelessness because they don't have the support they need to have a house.

  27. My ideas for Homelessness have not changed much. I still think that they are the unfortunate ones who need help. Also, The police shouldn't jail them just because they have no where else to stay. They should help them.

  28. My thoughts have changed because homelessness is not about being dirty or not it is weather you have enough money to support yourself and have your own home.Homelessness is increasing every day.

  29. my ideas of homelessness has changed. i think now that it is not having a home but you might get shelter from granparents or something. if you are living on the streets because you have noone to stay with then you can still get food from thrown away not eaten food. some of these people set up large cardboard boxes and can actually stay there. or you can find another shelter like Johnny and Ponyboy did from "The Outsiders."

  30. my thoughts have not changed it still means the same to me when someone is homeless

  31. i think my feelings have changed about homeless people because you dont have to run away to be homeless.you could of lost your job and got kicked out on the streets because you could have no money to go any where.

  35. My idea of homelessness have changed a lot. they are poor people without homes and people try to help them but they go to jail or the gifts get destroyed. homelessness is very sad.

  36. my ideas have changed about homelessness because people who are homeless are just regular people who need another chance.

  37. My ideas on homelessness have changed but not dramatically. Now that I've seen all different forms of homelessness and how it effects people, I'm starting to see that just who I see every day could be homeless for all I know. People losing their homes or living in improper homes and not getting correct food are all parts of homelessness. These people are just like you and me, but have an issue in their life that they want to resolve. It's sad how often homelessness is occurring and it's spreading like wild fire! I think we should take a second look at our lives and not take the things we have and the way we live for granted.

  38. My ideas of homelessness have not changed much. Homelessness here they have to work extra hard just to afford basic necessities like food or a roof over their head.

  39. My ideas of homelessness has changed. I now think that homelessness is how people who get kicked out or have no chiose to stay or go have nowhere to go. They stay with people they know and find safe shelter outside.

    ReplyDelete
  40. It has changed because now i have realized that some homeless people aren't all drug users and some might have even been like a normal middle class person

  41. There is such a huge misconception about what homeless really means. Most people visualize people living on the streets to be homeless, when actually, a lot of homeless people live in shelters, with family, or in public housing. I remember an episode of Extreme Home Makeover in which a mother and her girls were living in a shed because there house had burned down and they couldn't afford to rebuild or move. They had shelter, but didn't have running water. The girls spoke about how they would need to go to friends houses to shower. The family lived in this shed over a time of one-two years. I feel like I am so sheltered with having a nice home, my family with me, and the ability to live a comfortable life.

  42. My idea of homeless people, and the meaning of the word homelessness has changed! When I was looking through those pictures earlier, I realized, these are real people with real heartaches! They go through these conditions every day, but they don't speak up about it. I guess we really can't know just what it's like to live through that. But overall, they just don't seem like the big strangers walking around town that I once thought they were. We have to look past that, we have to look into their hearts, and see "There is no such thing as perfect people, we all fall down"!

  43. My idea of homeless has changed alot. I used to think that when you are homeless you are all alone on the streets. Also that they were always bad and got in a alot of trouble and didnt care about anything. WHen i read the packet about the girls it was surprising that they were just normal girls and just didnt have a place to call home.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Now I think that homeless means regular people that have lost there home and have nowhere to go. these people are regular people just like us.they just had some bad luck

    ReplyDelete
  45. Now i have realized how bad homelessness really is, also it is a teribel thing that needs to be stopped. -Evan Leupen

  46. My ideas of homelessness have changed. I now think that homelessness is people that have lost everything and have to live out in shelters, the streets, and very small apartments with no food and no protection from nature. People like them are just deeply lost.

    ReplyDelete
  47. My idea of homeless has changed because I know that homeless people are just regular people even though they live on the streets. Homeless people are just the same as people who aren't homeless, but they don't have as much money, clothing, or food.

    ReplyDelete
  48. My ideas have and havent changed because i did not think about homeless people in a stereotype way because you shouldnt think of them in a stereotype way and then it has chanded because those girls would have things but then they became homeless not by weird things like drugs they would lose jobs and sometimes even car crashes and all of these people are good people they dont do drugs or any thing like that.

  49. My idea of homelessness has not changed a lot, but I used to think that homeless people were just people who were sitting on the side of the street who beg for money instead of trying to get work. I think that that is probably the majority of the homeless people are that way but some people are not like that.

    ReplyDelete
  50. My idea of homeless people has changed because not every one that is homeless begs on the streets. Homeless people aren't always people that have thrown their lives away because of drugs adictions or drinking problems.

    ReplyDelete
  51. My thoughts about homeless people have changed because I think that most homeless people are compleatly normal, but they just have a little bit less cash than most other people.

    ReplyDelete
  52. my ideas of homeless has changed because when i used to think of homeless people i would think of people who did drugs, and smoked, and spent all the money they got from begging on beer, ciggarettes or illegal drugs. I thought of people who looked scary, and had gold teeth, and carried knives and mugged people. I didnt really think of families, with kids our age or younger, and parents and sometimes even granparents. I didnt think of people who had no control over their situation, people who had lost their job, and ran out of money and got evicted from their houses. I didnt think of whole families who had bad luck.

  53. These people on the one who go through more things then us. They have to leave there home, live on the street have to dumper diving for the days food the are the worst to be and we should not make fun of them because the not like us.

  57. my ideas about homelessness has changed alot. i used to think about mostly one person living on the streets or in a subway station or something like that. now i understand that an entire family can be homeless or that some teens take care of their little siblings and its not even their fault that they're homeless. i also didnt know that if your homeless and need surgery that you have to go back to whever you mught usually sleep, like vadar and his treet cornor. its actuall really sad! :(

  58. I still think the same about homeless it shouldnt get more common but it is

    ReplyDelete
  59. my ideas of homelessness have changed because i think that homeless people are homeless for a reason because they cant afford a home and get it taken away from them and left with nothing, and have to live on the streets. They go through a lot more than people who have homes .

    ReplyDelete
  60. i dont think my ideas have changed im pretty sure im right

    ReplyDelete
  61. homless doesnt allways have to be someone who runs away or is a drug addict. they can be people who just dont have enough money for a home or someone who lives in someone elses home that they moved in because they lost their home.

    ReplyDelete
  62. My ideas have changed about homlessness because I know it was bad during the depression, even after that a few were still homless, but know it is worse than or the same amount of homless people during the depression and it is bad and getting worse every day because more than 2000 children die because their parents can't feed them.
