  5. There is a really good book called "The Face on the Milk Carton" by Caroline B. Cooney. It is about a girl named Janie Johnson who thinks she lives with her parents, but they aren't her parents. Her next door neighbor, Reeve Shields, becomes her boyfriend and they date in secret from their parents for a while because their families have been best friends ever since Janie moved in and it would be kind of awkward. Janie finds a milk carton at school with a picture of her from when she was three in one of those "Have You Seen This Person" ads that they'd put on the back of milk cartons. It's a really gripping book. The sequel is "Whatever Happened to Janie?" and the third book is "The Voice on the Radio".

  42. Favorite book? Running Out of Time by Margret Peterson Haddix. I don't know if I could find a better book! It's about a girl, Jamie, that lives in the 1800s, or so she thinks. If you don't want me to give too much away, don't read on. But if you want to know more about the story, then keep reading!

She actually lives in a facility and is watched by people on the outside living in the 2000s that are seeing how people lived in the 1800s. Only the parents know about the program and they volunteered to live in it. But, when a girl across Jamie's street gets a quarentine sign put up on their door, there's an issue. That girl is sick and the program won't give her proper medication because of the program and how they want it to be as realistic as possible. Jamie's mom tries to explain the situation to her best she can. Jamie has to put on her mother's old clothes that no longer fit her and find a doctor to help supply the medicine. Problem is, she's never seen this outside world, and she can't be seen. This is a creativley written story with a great plot! Lots of twists and turns! Margaret Peterson Haddix is an amazing author and writes GREAT books! Read Running Out of Time! :)

My Genre of books is Historical Fiction! That's my favorite Genre by far! I like how it's realistic, but there's still a twist to the story!

  46. Another book I like is "Face on the Milk Carton"! What a great read! It's also got some more books going with it. The second one is "Whatever Happened to Janie?" and the next is "Voice on the Radio" There's another review about the book on here but mine is a little different and not as detailed. Here we go... It's about a girl, Janie, who is in high school. She's sitting at a table during lunch and picks up a milk carton. The milk cartons at her school show faces of missing children from a LONG time ago! When Janie looks at hers, she's sees a face of herself as a 3-year-old. So, she begins wondering if her parents kidnapped her or are even her REAL parents! Throughout the entire book she's searching for answers. NOTE: You don't have to read the second book, but it will continue on the story because it doesn't exactly finish in the first book.

  47. "Shakespeare's Secret" is a really good book! I read it 2 years ago so I don't exactly remember what it's about. But I do remember that it's a really good book that was really mysterious and was a definite page turner! Lots of twists and turns and actually connects with some real mystery throughout history involving Shakespeare! If you like Historical Fiction or Realistic Fiction, the you'll like this book!

  48. A series that I enjoyed was recommended to me in fifth grade. It was a trilogy. It didn't really have a name to the trilogy except you could call it the "Nina Tangleven" trilogy. But I like to call it the "Ghost Series" and you'll see why... The books aren't long and complicated but relatively short. These books, The Ghost in the Third Row, The Ghost Wore Gray, and the Ghost in the Big Brass Bed, are by Bruce Covelle. These are mystery books, but they aren't like Encyclopedia Brown! They are a more sophisticated version of it and not so "kiddish". They aren't novels but they aren't Dr. Suess books either. These books are about 2 girls that meet at these tryouts in the first book, The Ghost in the Third Row, and they can both see and talk to ghosts. What I like about this series is how close Nina, the main character, and her dad are. They have a good relationship together. But I also like how realistic the characters are and how the writing can be humorous. The girls say things me and my friends would and it's quite refreshing! But what really intrigues me about the book is that it's written in 1st person. The story is told by a girl, but written by a guy. Bruce Covelle really captured the way a girl thinks and talks in these books! And, if you read these books, all 3, you'll notice the author includes the same thing in every book. If you read carefully and pay attention to detail, you'll notice.

  53. The Bar Code Tattoo is a very good book. It is about a girl named Kayla and she is one of the only people without a bar code at the end of the book. She joins a group of people that are against the bar code tattoos, but two of the group will betray the rest, and she will fall in love with two in the group, but the second you wouldnt expect. They are against the tattoos because your entire life is displayed on your wrist if you get one. Kayla's dad got one and it killed him because he found out some top-secret information about the company that controls literally everything in the story. Kayla turns seventeen, and that is when you need to have one or you will get arrested and forced to get one. She refuses, so she is on the run after a fire in her home in which her mom dies. YOu can order it in the book orders. There is a sequel, but I don't remember the name.

  61. Another of my favorite books is the Clue of the Velvet Mask by Caroyln Keene. It is a good one for Halloween, because it deals with masquerade parties where there have been robberies. Nancy and her boyfriend Ned rent costumes and go to a party to find a culprit, who robbed a house where there was a party where Nancy and Ned found a velvet mask. I know that this book is at the Sherwood library, but I don't know if Nagel has it.

  62. A couple really good books are All The Lovely Bad Ones by Mary Downing Hahn, its about two children who are sent to live at a very old inn, and they hear that its supposedly haunted, to try to bring in more customers, the kids start being ghosts, and people start coming, then the real ghosts wake up.
Another really good book is Hunt For The Seventh, it takes place in England, and is about a family who goes to live at Minerva Hall, which has a garden of statues, and one of the children starts seeing things. The kid starts to see ghosts, and an has to follow clues left by the ghosts of seven children, before an ancient prophecy comes too, but it may already be to late
Emergency Room by Caroline B. Cooney is really good, it was about everything that happens in an inner city Emergency Room on a monday night from 6pm to midnight. Each chapter is told by a different person, who plays a diferent part in the emergency room. then a teenage mom brings in her twin babies, there not sick, but she cant stand the tiny welfare apartment where she is forced to live any longer. then when a druggie shows up he grabs one of her babies and runs.
